Buddhist charities to the rescue!

Over on Barbara’s Buddhism blog, she writes about two groups, the Tzu Chi Foundation and the Dharma Drum Mountain Social Welfare and Charity Foundation, and their response to the devastation wrought by Typhoon Morakot. These organizations happen to be founded by Buddhist Asians and dominated by Buddhist Asians. Together, their rosters of volunteers rival the number of white Buddhists in the world. Talk about engaged Buddhism.
